Midwives' Views on Virginity Testing: A Cross-sectional Study

Introduction: Several cultural and social factors have influenced virginity testing as a medical procedure. This procedure is performed, but sometimes there no scientific reason to perform it. Objective: study investigated the views of midwives working in Tabriz, Iran, about testing. Materials Methods: cross-sectional was conducted among 210 using sociodemographic researcher-made questionnaire assess midwives’ on The samples were selected by random sampling Tabriz City, Iran. Pearson correlation test, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA used determine relationship between characteristics Results: Mean±SD age participants 35.25±8.9 years. overall score view 206.98, an attainable range from 55 275. There significant with variables (P=0.033), education level (P=0.001), ethnicity (P=0.012), place residence employment (P=0.001).
